Image & video specs: resolution, file types, and size

Here are the ideal specs for images and videos in your Story.
Short version: your Story is vertical (9:16), so full-screen media works best at 1080 × 1920. Don't stress about hitting the numbers exactly, though we'll help your media fit.

Image specs

The platform automatically resizes uploaded images to fit the screen, so you've got room to breathe. For the sharpest result, aim for these:

File types: JPG, PNG, WebP, and SVG.

💡Tip: If your image doesn't match these exact dimensions, don't worry! Most upload fields give you a focus point selector, so you can choose which part of the image stays in view when it's cropped to fit.

Can I edit video in the Builder?

Not yet. 🙂 For now, trim and edit your video before you upload it.

My file is too big — how do I resize a video?

If your video is over the 100 MB limit (or you just want it to load faster), compress it before uploading. A smaller file streams quicker and still looks great. Two easy routes:

  • A free desktop tool — HandBrake is free, reliable, and gives you full control over size and quality.
  • An online compressor — search for a "compress video" tool and upload your file for a quick shrink.

💡Tip: When compressing, keep the resolution at 1080 × 1920 and the aspect ratio 9:16 — you're reducing the file size, not the dimensions.
