Question 1

Collect information from your users

Accepted Answer

It's possible to ask users for their opinion, feedback or personal information during any story. There are a couple of content blocks for this purpose: Poll, Checklist, Open Question, Form and Review Request.

#

All answers given during these content blocks are saved and displayed on your Analytics Dashboard.

Poll

With the poll content block, it is possible for the user to rate a series of questions on a scale, with emoji's or to agree/disagree with a statement.

You have control over what type of questions you can ask and how many.

You also have the ability to display a custom message, based on the combined score of the users' answers. For example:

Based on these settings, the user would see the first message when their combined score is between 3 and 8. Conversely, they would see the second message if their combined score was between 9 and 15.

Checklist

Question 2

Creating branches

Accepted Answer

Creating branches is easy if you know how. Follow the steps in this article, and you'll be able to create complex story structures in no-time.

What is a branch? 🥸

A branch is a sidestep from your main story line. Based on action by your user, you'll be able to change the storyline. You could for example add a simple choice at the start of the story that leads to three different storylines. Alternatively, you can go wild, and add branches inside your branches to create a complex and replayable story.

Let's get started!

Adding a Branch Choice content block

Open the Story editor of your story and add a Branch Choice content block:

Then create some branches by clicking on 'Add more' under branching options. You will end up with something like the following:

By clicking on the icon in any of the branches below the content block, you'll enter a new, empty story editor. Here, you'll be able to add any content block you'd like. When you're finished, press the icon again (on to

Question 3

3D models in Augmented Reality

Accepted Answer

So you want to make 3D models come to life? 🚀 Then you came to the right place.

Here you'll learn how to upload your 3D models, so you can project them on any image you want using the AR Marker content block .

Exporting as GLB/glTF

To upload a 3D model to the builder, you'll first need a 3D model in a GLB or glTF format. We'll show you how to export your 3D model to this format using Blender, but you can also export to GLB and glTF in Blender.

GLB and glTF are more lightweight, which means they run better on web applications like our interactive stories.

To start you need to select all the parts of the model you want to export.

Click on 'File → Export → glTF 2.0' as shown above.

Check 'Selected Objects' and deselect everything under 'Animation'.
Click 'Export glTF 2.0' and you're all done!

Uploading a 3D model

Click on 'Choose file' to upload the 3D model.

Question 5

Implement your story on your website

Accepted Answer

You built a killer story. Now what?

It’s not magic. It’s implementation. And yes, that word sounds boring, but that’s exactly where the magic happens.

🧰 First things first: your implementation toolbox

Every story built with Intractive gives you: an embed code.

(Don’t skip this bit): For your website implementation, you need this embed code. And here’s the catch - it’s different for every story. So, no copy-pasting from this article. Hop into the Builder, grab the code for your masterpiece.

How?

Share > Website > follow the steps.

Now, lets get started!

💻 Website implementation

There are three main ways to embed an interactive story, ranging from simple to more technical.

1. Using the Intractive SDK (popup)

How it works:

Step 1: Add the SDK to your website

Include the following script right before the tag on your website, if you haven't already done so.

Go to your story in the Builder, hit Share, choose Website, enter a name and there it is - your very own SDK code. Copy, paste, done.

Example:

Completed this step? Go to step 2.

Step 2: Place the link to your story (from step 2) behind text or an image.

Add the following link somewhere on your page. This can be a butt

Question 6

The virtual host

Accepted Answer

Did you know that you can use a normal video of someone and transform it into a hologram?

Well, in this article you will learn how to add your own virtual host in your stories.

Adding the virtual host

You can find the 'Virtual Host' when clicking 'New content block' in your story.

The only thing you have to do is:

Add your marker image, this is where your person will be projected on.
Add any mp4 video of a person. The software will do all the work for you by cutting out the person from the environment (this may take a minute).

You don't even need a green screen, but it helps if the video of the person is clear.

The result

When you're all done you can view your creation by hitting 'Preview'.

Here is an example:

All done 🙌. Play around with the filters to get the effect you want
