Organisations, Projects & Stories: how it all fits together

Intractive has three levels that nest inside each other:

  • Organisation
  • Projects
  • Stories

An Organisation contains Projects, and a Project contains Stories. Or, from the other direction: a Story lives in a Project, and every Project belongs to your Organisation.

What is an Organisation?

Your Organisation is the top level, the umbrella over your entire workspace. It holds all your Projects, all your Stories, and your team.
At the Organisation level you'll find your Organisation profile: the name, description, and logo.

What is a Project?

A Project is a workspace inside your Organisation that groups together a set of Stories that belong together. Most teams organise Projects around a client, a brand, a campaign, a program, a region, or a product line.

What can you do with a Project?

  • Name and configure it — give it a name and description, and set a default language.
  • Sort Stories and drag them to control the order they appear in (purely for your own organisation; it doesn't change what a player sees). You can also create categories to bring more order in the story overview.
  • Duplicate a Story and paste it into the same Project or another one.
  • Delete Stories you no longer need.
  • Assign team members at the Project level, each with their own role.
  • View analytics aggregated across all the Stories in the Project.

💡 Tip: You can invite someone directly to a single Project without giving them access to your whole Organisation. They'll see only that Project and the Stories inside it — handy for freelancers, clients, or reviewers who only need access to one project.

What is a Story?

The story is one complete interactive experience. Stories are used for a recruitment journey, a campus tour, a training module, a campaign, or an on-site activation.

Each Story is built from content blocks, these blocks are individual steps that your audience interacts with.

What can you do with a Story?

  • Build the experience — add and edit branches and content blocks.
  • Set up Story variables for logic, scoring, and analytics.
  • Add translations for multiple languages.
  • Publish releases — create a new release when you're ready for changes to go live.
  • Duplicate it into the same Project or a different one, or copy it to move between environments.
  • View analytics and Sessions for how your audience is engaging.
