# Story analytics

# Story analytics

You built a great story. Now you want to know who showed up, how far they got, and what data they left behind. Good to know up front: you can see the numbers of all your stories combined in the Insights tab. Want the performance of just one story? Open that story and head to its Analytics tab. Let's start there.

Let start with the performance of a story.
1. Go to the platform.
2. Select Stories and open the story you'd like to see.
3. Hit the Analytics tab and the performance of that story appears.

### Analytics overview
This is where all your data points live in a single view.
* **Total visits** — Every visit to a story, including return visits by the same player.
* **Unique sessions** — Distinct sessions, counting each player's run once.
* **Engaged sessions** — Sessions where the player advanced past the first content block (i.e. didn't bounce).
* **Content blocks per session** — Average number of blocks a session viewed; a proxy for how deep visitors go.
* **Outbound events** — Total clicks on outbound links (Redirect blocks and links inside Text/Image blocks).
* **Submissions** — Total values written to story variables — not just Forms, but also Multiple Choice, Poll, and other input blocks.
* **Top traffic sources -** the QR codes or links that were used to open the story, ordered by frequency. Only includes unique visits
* **Top Outbound** — Redirects or clicks from the story to an external web page.

The overview leads with your Flow analytics (unique visits), followed by the story blocks. You'll notice the numbers drop off further into the story. That's completely normal, since not everyone reaches the end of the story. Always good to check what the average of the Content blocks per session are. This tells you how far the average visitor gets into your story.
## Flow analytics
In the Flow analytics you can zoom into your story and follow the paths people actually took. This is where you spot drop-offs, the exact block where visitors leave, and see which routes are most popular. You'll also find your Top Outbound and languages here.

| 💡Tip: Use the filters to focus on a single source, or pick a specific date or period. Great for comparing a campaign week against a quiet one.

## Sessions view
This is the list of everyone who visited your story. Dive into a single session to see exactly what happened. A useful habit: compare a **successful session** against one that didn't perform well, and look for the difference.
* **Progress** — How far the player got, as a percentage.
* **Scene** — The last content block the player reached.
* **Top inbound channels** — Groups all sessions by the share entry that brought them in (**Online link**, **Offline QR**, **Website embed**), so you can see which distribution channel is doing the work.

| 💡Note: the "length" of a story (how many blocks it has) can differ from session to session. With branches you can create different paths through the same story. Path A might be 4 content blocks while Path B is only 2. This is also why naming your share entries matters: clear names make your inbound channels readable at a glance.

## Submissions
These are the sessions where data was collected. The table shows the **data**, the **country**, and the **variables** you connected to your story.
Hit Download to get a sheet with all the data, ready to share with others.
You can also remove submissions. After you hit the button you can setup a date to remove all submissions before: date… When you decide to remove a submission , good to know this doesn’t have any impact on the analytics.

| 💡Note: removing submissions has no impact on your analytics, the numbers stay intact.

## Scoreboard
Want to add a little gamification to your story? You can award points when something happens in your story for example, the visitor gives the right answer to a question and earns 50 points, plus 20 bonus points for answering within 5 seconds. All those points are collected in one place: the Scoreboard.

## Reviews
Here you'll find all the reviews your visitors left. To start collecting them, simply add the Review request content block to your story. Visitors can give 1–5 stars to rate your service or the story itself.

## The Insights tab: everything in one place
When you open the Insights tab, you see the data from all your stories combined in a single overview. This is perfect for a quick pulse-check across everything you're running.
